Vehicle overturns on Capital Beltway, plunges into water

WASHINGTON — A man is suffering critical injuries after his vehicle overturned off a ramp of the Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway and crashed into a retention pond Sunday afternoon.

Mark Brady with Prince George’s Fire and EMS said the incident occurred on the Branch Avenue exit of Interstate 495 in Prince George’s County.

Several good Samaritans stopped and helped the man get out of the water.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital.
