Police: Pr. George’s Co. man stabs wife to death during argument

WASHINGTON — A Prince George’s County man is facing murder charges after police say he stabbed his wife to death during an argument Monday.

Police responded to the 4500 block of 38th Place in Brentwood, Maryland, around 8:15 a.m. Monday for a report of a domestic-related assault. When they arrived, they found 24-year-old Lisbet Mendez suffering from stab wounds.

Emergency crews transported her to the hospital where she died a short time later.

An investigation found her husband, 24-year-old Erwin Lorenzo Sanchez, stabbed Mendez during an argument, according to police.

Police arrested Sanchez on the scene. He is being charged with first and second degree murder along with assault charges. He is being held at the Department of Corrections without bond.
