WASHINGTON — Two children are in the hospital after a car crash Wednesday morning led to a dump truck plowing into a town house in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
The crash occurred around 11 a.m. in the 900 block of Owens Road, near Southern Avenue in Southeast D.C., according to Mark Brady, spokesman for the Prince George’s County Fire Department.
The two children who were injured were in the other car involved in the crash and not in the house that was struck, Brady tweeted.
The children’s injuries were not life-threatening. Two adults were also evaluated by medics, Brady said.
Authorities say the house that struck by the dump truck suffered significant damage and has been declared uninhabitable. The family of that home has been displaced and the Red Cross called in to help.
Two other homes were also being evaluated by crews but were expected to be reoccupied, Brady tweeted.
