WASHINGTON — Firefighters were called the the same scene twice Sunday morning to put out two fires at a duplex in Temple Hills, Maryland.
The first fire occurred just before 1 a.m. at 3314 28th Parkway, according Prince George County’s Fire Department. Officials said the fire started on the rear porch and extended inside the structure.
Firefighters were called to the scene a second time to extinguish a fire in the adjoining home around 7:30 a.m. Officials determined that embers from the first fire reignited and sparked the second blaze. The fire caused an estimated $35,000 in damages.
No one was injured from the fires, officials said.
Three adults and five children were displaced from the two homes.
Investigators were still looking into what caused the first fire.
