Police arrest Prince George’s Co. sexual assault suspect at Metro station

WASHINGTON — Police on Tuesday arrested a man wanted in connection with a sexual assault in New Carrollton over the weekend.

Police said 23-year-old Darren Samuel Robinson broke into an apartment in the 5400 block of 85th Avenue around 7 a.m. Sunday. Robinson sexually assaulted the victim and stole several items from her home before fleeing, police said.

On Tuesday afternoon, Metro Transit police arrested Robinson at the Huntington Metro station hours after Prince George’s County police released a photo of him.

Two people at the Metro station recognized Robinson from the photo and contacted authorities, according to Prince George’s County police.

Robinson is in custody in Fairfax County awaiting extradition back to Prince George’s County.
