WASHINGTON – Police have released more details about a man who sexually assaulted a girl in the hallway of her Forestville apartment building, saying he has distinctive tattoos and a facial marking.
Prince George’s County police say the 12-year-old girl’s attacker has the word “blessed” tattooed on his neck along with a star tattooed on each shoulder. All three tattoos are believed to be in black ink.
The attacker also has a birthmark or a scar on his face, police say.
Police say the black man is between the ages of 18 and 23, stands about 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-6 and has shoulder-length dreadlocks. He also has at least one other tattoo on his left forearm.
Police say the girl’s mother spotted the man near the family’s apartment building in the 2100 block of Brooks Drive Friday afternoon. She lunged at him and forced him to the ground. But he managed to escape and officers were not able track him down.
The unidentified man sexually assaulted the girl last Wednesday after following her off the elevator.
Investigators also released surveillance video of a man believed to be the girl’s attacker.
