Here are some photos of the first days of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
WASHINGTON — Competition is underway after the opening ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
The first gold medal the games was awarded in the 15-kilometer skiathlon. The U.S. gained its first medal when 17-year-old Red Gerard won in the snowboard slopestyle competition.
Mirai Nagasu leaped into history by becoming the first American woman to land a triple axel at the Olympics and only the third woman to land the difficult jump at the games.
