Jets activate P Mann, OL McDermott; OL Edoga placed on IR

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets activated punter Braden Mann and offensive lineman Conor McDermott from injured reserve Saturday and placed offensive lineman Chuma Edoga on IR.

Tight end Kenny Yeboah, fullback Nick Bawden and defensive ends Ronnie Blair and Hamilcar Rashed were elevated from the practice squad and are eligible to play Sunday against Buffalo.

The Jets also announced tight ends coach Ron Middleton will not be at the game as he follows COVID-19 protocols. Offensive assistant Billy VandeMerkt will assume Middleton’s coaching responsibilities.

Mann was sidelined since spraining a ligament in his left knee in Week 1 at Carolina. He was designated to return to practice on Oct. 27. Thomas Morstead, who filled in for seven games, was waived earlier this week to clear the way for Mann.

McDermott was carted off the field after injuring a knee during the Jets’ second preseason game at Green Bay. He returned to practice earlier this week.

Edoga was placed on IR with a knee injury. The 2019 third-round pick has played in three games this season.
