On a per-share basis, the Tampa, Florida-based company said it had net income of $1.56. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.86 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.75 per share.
The packaging company posted revenue of $3.26 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.01 billion.
For the current quarter ending in June, Crown expects its per-share earnings to range from $2.10 to $2.20.
The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $7.90 to $8.30 per share.
