The Redmond, Washington-based company said it had profit of $5.16 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were $4.14 per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 16 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $3.88 per share.
The software maker posted revenue of $81.27 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Thirteen analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $80.23 billion.
