Chick-fil-A to open part-time in a Northern Virginia hospital

Most people are not going to visit a hospital just to grab lunch, but in Reston, HCA Healthcare Inc. is creating a tempting option.

The owner of Reston Hospital Center has been working to create an “indoor food truck” concept, with Akeno Sushi open for lunch two days a week and, we recently learned, Chick-fil-A on two other days.

The permit for the buildout of Chick-fil-A kiosk was filed this week with Fairfax County. An HCA spokesperson confirmed it has a contract signed with the Atlanta-based fast-food giant.

Both Akeno Sushi and Chick-fil-A will be open to the general public during their operating hours. In the case of the former, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the latter, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Chick-fil-A currently operates one in-hospital location in Virginia, at Richmond’s Chippenham Hospital, another HCA operation. This will be the first in Greater Washington.
