Massive steakhouse chain eyes former Northern Virginia TGI Fridays space

One of the world’s largest owners of sit-down chain restaurants has drawn up plans to put one of its brands into a shuttered Northern Virginia TGI Fridays.

LongHorn Steakhouse, owned by Darden Restaurants Inc. (NYSE: DRI), will take over the former Fridays at 13237 Worth Ave. in Woodbridge, in Kimco Realty’s Smoketown Station development, according to plans obtained from ConstructConnect. The roughly 5,900-square-foot restaurant would seat just shy of 200 across the dining room and bar.

Belisle Construction Inc. of Illinois, a general contractor, lists the project on its website with a bid date for subcontractors of March 8.

It will be the eighth LongHorn Steakhouse in Greater Washington and the second in Prince William County, joining one in Manassas.
