It sure seems like Ted Leonsis has made up his mind about Potomac Yard. Virginia and Alexandria’s offering of substantial subsidies for a 12-acre, arena-anchored entertainment district adjacent to the region’s newest Metro station is an offer so good it probably shouldn’t be refused. But the agreement in principle has also created a lot of ill will for the CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, who is facing criticism for turning his back on D.C. Efforts to oppose the arena in Alexandria are also picking up steam, if the yard signs in my neighborhood are any indication.
