On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had profit of 43 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 59 cents per share.
The newspaper publisher posted revenue of $667.5 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $173.9 million, or $1.04 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.31 billion.
