Loudoun County’s Beacon Hill community nears deal to resurrect golf club

The Beacon Hill golf course may live again.

If that sentence reads familiar, there’s a good reason. It’s copied verbatim from a May 3, 2016, report in the Washington Business Journal about the 330-acre former club northwest of Leesburg. 

At the time, the Beacon Hill Community Association, the course’s owner, was nearing a deal with a private group, led by Jeffrey Milton of Sanibel, Florida-based BTS Development Corp., to resurrect the 27-hole, Johnny Miller-designed links a decade after the last operator closed up shop.

That deal did not come to fruition, but a new one might, this time with Haymarket’s Resort Development Partners. According to emails obtained by the Washington Business Journal, the most recent dated this past Thursday from the Beacon Hill Community Association board of directors, RDP “has been concentrating on investors” in the past month and “made significant progress.”
