David Harrington, longtime business voice for Prince George’s County, dies

David Harrington, who had helped shape Prince George’s County growth and economic development policy from prominent state, local and nonprofit roles for decades, died suddenly Monday after a brief illness. He was 68.

Harrington had just begun a new role in April as senior director of community relations and stakeholder engagement for Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic Region, ending a more than 11-year run as president and CEO of the Prince George’s County Chamber of Commerce. 

“In his brief time with our organization, David made long-lasting contributions that will support our mission of improving health well into the future,” the nonprofit health organization said in a statement. “David’s kind, gentle and thoughtful approach touched the hearts of many throughout his career and here at Kaiser Permanente.”
