Boston Properties Inc. (NYSE: BXP) and other property owners at Reston Town Center are contributing to a new shuttle service that will launch in time for the debut of a new Silver Line Metro station expected in late fall.
The Reston Town Center Association, the governing body for the expanding hub of retail, office space and restaurants, is launching the linkRTC service. The free shuttle will open when the new Reston Town Center Metro station begins accepting passengers.
The shuttle adds another option to access one of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s six new Metro stations planned with the 11.4-mile extension of the Silver Line. Several other communities with new stations are building out more connections, too.
The shuttle is privately financed through a cost-sharing agreement between major area landlord Boston Properties, the Hyatt Regency in Reston and locally headquartered internet infrastructure company Verisign, said Robert Goudie, the association’s executive…
