Masoud Aboughaddareh, owner, Lima Twist and Greenhouse Bistro
Masoud Aboughaddareh was a grandmaster of the once-popular lounge and nightlife scene at 14th and K streets in Northwest D.C. The proprietor of the legendary Lima lounge got his start as “Masoud A,” a moniker he assumed as a promoter to shorten his name on homemade flyers created on his brother’s typewriter.
His 10-year run operating Lima ended in 2015, which led him to the commonwealth to open Greenhouse Bistro in Tysons. Aboughaddareh reports the contemporary American and Italian restaurant with late-night hours pulls in around $5 million a year and also served as an incubator during the pandemic for his latest foray, Lima Twist. That 5,200-square-foot creation, located steps away from the original K Street-lounge, serves up plenty of nostalgia for its predecessor, but with that promised twist: A sit-down restaurant featuring live music that is by reservation only.
