Combination distillery and brewery planned for Sterling business park

A combination distillery and brewery could soon be coming to Northern Virginia.

Plans were recently submitted to Loudoun County for Eastern Distillery Co., to be built on a vacant parcel in the Sterling Park Business Center off Sully Road and South Sterling Boulevard. It would join a mix of other businesses located in the area, including Crooked Run Fermentation, Rocket Frog Brewing Co. and Beltway Brewing Co.

It’s envisioned the facility would become “one of the best distillery spirit facilities in the East Coast area,” per project materials, with separate product lines for whiskey and beer. The roughly 52,711-square-foot building would be divided into a single-story structure for production and storage and a three-story business and administrative component.

The applicant is identified on county documents as Dong Wang, of McLean. He did not respond to an email seeking comment. A woman who answered the phone listed in his application said Wang was not available for comment.
