The Pitch: This e-learning startup wants to help people get jobs — and build a workforce

Komal Kaul has seen the power of education.

Growing up in Kanpur, India, her parents were professors at the Indian Institute of Technology, a government-owned public school for “everyone regardless of their social or economic background,” she said. “I grew up realizing that education is the biggest vaccination against poverty and can open doors to those who wouldn’t normally have access to opportunity.”
