Scott Keogh, the president and CEO of Herndon’s Volkswagen Group of America and chief exec of Volkswagen North American Region, is stepping out of those roles to lead the German automaker’s revival of the Scout sport utility vehicle as a spinoff electric vehicle company.
Pablo Di Si, executive chairman of Volkswagen South American Region, will step into Keogh’s former roles with VW on Sept. 1, the company said Tuesday.
Volkswagen AG, the Wolfsburg, Germany-headquartered parent company, said in May it would revive the Scout, an off-road vehicle produced by Chicago tractor and construction equipment manufacturer International Harvester from 1961 to 1980. VW acquired the Scout brand in 2021 when its commercial truck business, Traton, bought Navistar International Corp., the successor company to International Harvester.
