Software maker Humanitru to expand following investment

The equity investment arm of the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corp. has made a $200,000 investment in Richmond’s Humanitru, a software platform that helps nonprofits collect and manage info on donors, events, volunteering and more.

“We’ve had other investors put in similar amounts before in the past; the $200,000 came as part of a larger round that we closed in November,” said Alan Wei, Humanitru founder and CEO. “It’s a means to expand our sales and products team.”

Wei said the rest of 2022 will be focused on scaling, going to market and publicizing Humanitru at conferences, followed by another funding round.

“My goal is hitting the go button and cranking up the dial,” said Wei. “We have a sales team of four people in the field managed by a VP of sales. We’re testing out our approach so see how we carve up territories, what’s the ideal nonprofit to target and where we’re best suited to serve. We’re also testing out a few products focused on our analytics.”
