Leidos Holdings Inc. will sponsor driver Bubba Wallace on Michael Jordan’s NASCAR racing team for the 2022 season.
The company and the racing organization said Tuesday that Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) will be a primary partner of 23XI Racing, a race team launched by Jordan and past Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin in 2020.
The Reston technology company’s logo will appear on Wallace’s No. 23 Toyota Camry TRD beginning at the Circuit of The Americas race in Austin, Texas, in March.
Wallace is the only full-time Black driver participating in NASCAR races, and has used his platform to advocate for Black Lives Matter and call for increased diversity in the sport of racing. He won his first NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Alabama, in October.
Leidos and Wallace were previously affiliated in 2016 and 2017 when Leidos sponsored Wallace for four races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
