10 Public Colleges Where Students Are Eager to Enroll

Small Public Schools With High Yields

Most of the public institutions where a high number of accepted students enroll have a small incoming freshman class — typically less than 1,000 students. These schools’ high yield rates indicate popularity and desirability often associated with a first-choice institution.

U.S. News data show that one of these 10 schools had a 100-percent yield in fall 2016. Many of these top 10 charge either no tuition or in-state tuition and fees that are below the national average. Here are the 10 public institutions with the highest yield for incoming first-time students in fall 2016, according to the data 491 ranked public schools reported to U.S. News in an annual survey.
