WASHINGTON — If you are counting calories, then this could be a nightmare. Pizza Hut Australia has created a stuffed-crust pizza layered with nacho cheese Doritos chips and cheddar cheese.
This pie packs a crunchy punch as it has actual-size chips on every inch of the crust.
“Why Doritos? Well it is a globally loved brand and they have the best corn chips to deliver the ultimate crunch,” Pizza Hut Australia head of marketing and innovation Fatima Syed said in a release, reported by the Los Angeles Times.
“We know from research how big an impact the crunch sound has on one’s appetite.”
The Doritos Crunchy Crust pizza is only available in Australia for a limited time.
In other recent Pizza Hut chain news, a location in England has come under fire for an employment ad.
A Pizza Hut restaurant in Surrey posted a job ad for “decent good looking girls” on Gumtree.com last month for drivers and receptionists.
“Pizza Hut Leatherhead looking for full time and part time car drivers. Need to have your own car,” it said. “We are also looking for a decent good looking girls (sic) for reception. That role is just part time.”
It was up for three weeks before it was removed after a screen shot of the ad started circulating on social media. A complaint was made to the company’s head office, The Independent reports.
