WASHINGTON –Is the Real Slim Shady, a.k.a Eminem, a.k.a Marshall Mathers,
aging?
One might not want to believe it, but youthful rappers and teenage celebrities
get old, too.
But the media wants to know if drugs — Mathers has acknowledged
hitting bottom
with pill addiction in the past — have ravaged the looks of the “previously
baby-faced lyricist,” who reportedly looked thin, gaunt and pale in a recent
appearance at the Wall Street Journal’s Innovator of the Year awards on
Wednesday.
In a documentary, How to Make Money Selling Drugs, released last year, Eminem
revealed that he almost died from a pill addiction he developed during the
filming of his breakthrough semi-autobiographical film, “8 Mile” in 2002. He
relapsed after a hospital stay but after a long recovery, is reportedly
drug-
free. Matters is now 42.
