WASHINGTON — The only things holding skaters back from hitting the ice at
the National Gallery of Art’s Sculpture Garden are some orange-and-white
barricades, as workers put the finishing touches on the seasonal rink before
it
reopens.
The pearly white rink on the National Mall, decorated with strings of lights
hanging around it, is scheduled to open Friday,
Nov. 14. The ice rink at The Harris
Pavilion in Manassas is also set to open Friday, weather permitting. An outdoor rink at The Washington
Harbour on the Georgetown waterfront opens Saturday.
Skating at the National Gallery of Art costs $8 for adults, and $7 for
children, students and seniors. Skate rental is $3. A $195
season pass provides unlimited access whenever the rink is open, through the
expected end of the season on March 16.

Harbour rink costs $10 for adults, $9 for children, military and
seniors. Skate rental there is $5.
In Tysons, Tysons Corner Center Director of Marketing Bob Maurer says the
brand-new ice rink at The Plaza at Tysons Corner Center is scheduled to open
on Black Friday, Nov. 28.
The mall has said the rink on the elevated plaza connecting the mall to the
Tysons Corner Metro will be the largest outdoor rink in Northern Virginia.
If bundling up doesn’t sound appealing, there are several outdoor rinks that
skaters can enjoy right now, even in shorts and short sleeves:
