ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — Police in Maryland say they’ve arrested a Florida man in connection with a bank robbery and that the man rode a taxi to and from the robbery.
Montgomery County police said Friday that they arrested 44-year-old Cary James of Orlando, Florida, in connection with the robbery at the Wells Fargo bank. Police say he’s also a suspect in two robberies in Virginia. Police say James took a taxi to a Wells Fargo in Rockville on Thursday and gave a teller a note demanding money.
Police say the teller complied and James left in the same taxi. Police say the driver, unaware of James’ activity, began to drive him to Washington.
Bank employees contacted police who located and stopped the taxi.
Online court records did not list an attorney for James.
