WASHINGTON — A teenager is being hailed as a hero after he rescued his two-year-old sister after a man tried to kidnap her on Sunday.
Police say that Patrick Rooney, 26, approached a group of children on Geraldine Court, in Woodbridge, at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, picked up the toddler and began to walk away. The girl’s brother approached the man and got his sister away from the man, who walked away. Someone followed him and called the police, who arrested him nearby on Golden Court.
No one was hurt.
