BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore police have arrested a man in the fatal stabbing of an employee of a popular music venue in the city.
Police said Saturday afternoon that they’ve charged 32-year-old Nicholas Heath with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of Thomas Malenski. Malenski was stabbed early Friday morning along with another man, who survived.
Malenski worked at the Ottobar, a mainstay of the city’s music scene. He and the other man were attacked just outside the establishment, which is in the Remington neighborhood.
Police have not detailed a motive in the stabbing. Police say Heath was identified and arrested after an investigation that included help from the community.
