MONZA, Italy (AP) — Caterham team principal Christian Albers has resigned and been replaced by assistant Manfredi Ravetto.
The team announced the move immediately after Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix, where drivers Kamui Kobayashi and Marcus Ericsson finished 17th and 19th respectively.
Albers says the decision is “due to private reasons and in order to be able to spend more time with my family.”
The former F1 driver has only been in charge since July when Caterham was taken over by a group of Swiss and Middle Eastern investors.
Ravetto says “Christian has been an asset to the team since the moment he joined … we want to thank him for his hard work and commitment to the team.”
