WASHINGTON – In a parking lot sandwiched between the Washington Navy Yard and Nationals Park, guys in swimsuits and gals in bikinis frolicked in wading pools, swooshed down a gigantic inflatable water slide, and slurped summery drinks from a Tiki Bar by Bluejacket.
The Saturday afternoon party, organized by the riverfront park The Yards, included lawn games and a water fight. Partiers grabbed buckets of water and pump action soakers to drench each other.
“I like the lack of clothes and the amount of water,” said Katrina, a bikini-clad partygoer as she sized up the scene.
Laughter and shrieks filled the air along with thumping music blasted by a DJ and later the all-90’s band White Ford Bronco.
“I think it’s a great place for young adults to get out, explore their creativity and just have a good time,” said Jessica Lamb of Arlington.
