RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The American Red Cross says it has an urgent need for blood donors.
The Red Cross says blood donations often slow during the summer months, but the need increases around Labor Day as schools reopen.
The Red Cross issued a plea Thursday for donations in July, but the need for more donations remains. Donors with types O negative, B negative and A negative blood are especially needed.
The Red Cross has scheduled a number of blood drives around the Richmond area this month. All blood types are needed.
A blood donor card or driver’s license and two other forms of identification are required.
