WASHINGTON– Indiana Pacers star Paul George suffered a serious leg injury during the fourth quarter of the USA Basketball Showcase on Friday night.
George was chasing down NBA cohort James Harden when he ran into the stanton underneath the basket. His leg bent sideways and it was all caught on the replay. The Internet, including Twitter and other social media sites lit up with the photos and prayers from fellow players, and fans.
According to SB Nation, George was transported to the hospital for treatment where it was not clear yet how long he would be out of the game. He appeared positive, later taking to Twitter shortly after midnight:
Thanks everybody for the love and support.. I'll be ok and be back better than ever!!! Love y'all!! #YoungTrece

Meanwhile, the coaches and players decided to cut short the televised scrimmage, which was scheduled ahead of Team USA’s participation in FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain later this month. George was considered a lock-in for the final 12-man TEAM USA roster.
