HAMPTON, Va. (AP) — Two engineers from NASA’s Langley Research Center have been honored by the agency’s astronaut corps for their work.
Robert Parker and David Roberts were presented awards by Tracy Caldwell Dyson, a NASA astronaut.
They each received a Silver Snoopy lapel pin flown on board a space shuttle mission along with a letter of commendation.
Parker was honored for his contribution in the development of Orion flight hardware in the spacecraft’s first mission. Roberts was honored for his technical expertise and leadership related to unique research hardware.
NASA says the Silver Snoopy is the astronauts’ personal award and is presented to less than one percent of the total NASA workforce each year. It is given to NASA employees and contractors for outstanding achievements related to human flight safety or mission success.
