BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore is teaming up with Anaheim, California, and San Antonio as the three cities seek an advantage in the cutthroat competition for convention business.
The cities announced a partnership Monday called Synchronicities in which they will work together to recruit annual conferences.
Tourism officials say the partnership is a natural fit because of the cities’ geographic diversity and the tendency of conference planners to rotate their events to different parts of the country.
Tom Noonan, president and CEO of Visit Baltimore, said convention organizers also view the cities similarly, comparing Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, San Antonio’s River Walk and Disneyland in Anaheim.
The Daily Record (http://bit.ly/1yqMoMH ) reports that Baltimore had had a previous partnership with Salt Lake City and Fort Worth, Texas.
