BEDFORD, Va. (AP) — Bedford County police say a Roanoke man has been accused of trying to arrange the killing of his wife.
The Bedford County sheriff’s department says in a news release that 61-year-old Kevin Colgan was charged Thursday with solicitation to commit murder.
The release says investigators were made aware over the past several months of threats Colgan made against his wife, Sarah Colgan. She had a protective order against him and the couple has a final divorce hearing in August.
The release says Kevin Colgan allegedly told an undercover investigator Wednesday he wanted his wife killed and would pay the investigator to kill her. The investigator and Kevin Colgan drove to her home Thursday and Colgan was arrested.
Colgan is being held without bond at the Bedford Adult Detention Center.
