WASHINGTON — A man’s body has been found floating in a retention pond near Lake Forest Mall in Gaithersburg, Maryland, police say.
Montgomery County police say they responded to a call about the body before 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The pond is in between Montgomery Village Avenue and a mall parking lot.
Capt. Paul Starks says homicide detectives are on the scene.
In 2006, the body of a man who had fled a hit and run accident at Lakeforest Boulevard and Russell Avenue, was found three days later in the retention pond. Rescue workers pulled Byron E. Frazier, 44, of no fixed address, from the northern part of the pond near Montgomery Village Avenue on Aug. 21, 2006.
