Carroll Manor Recreation Council (CMRC) is a member of the Frederick County, Maryland Association of Recreation Councils and serves the communities of Adamstown, Point of Rocks, Ballenger Creek, Buckeystown, and Tuscarora. CMRC offers youth programs for baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, and wrestling. CMRC is committed to serving youth sports in Frederick County. With participants ranging from ages 4-18, there is something for all children. CMRC has continued to grow from a small program to one that serves over 1,000 youth annually. CMRC is 100% volunteer run. All board members are parents of current or former CMRC players/participants. Coaches are recruited from the local community, often, but not exclusively parents. Former parents and current non-parent community members coach, run clocks, line the fields and perform other necessary tasks. Recently, Carroll Manor was gifted a large tract of land. This land has the potential to serve as multi-use sport fields for the children of CMRC and the surrounding community. CMRC is actively working to raise funds to convert this generous gift from raw land to fields. The cost to do so is huge, and the task, while seeming daunting, is beginning to galvanize the community.
