WASHINGTON – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 1:15 a.m. and a watch until 4 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18. A wind advisory has also been issued for parts of Virginia until 6 a.m.
In Maryland, the warning and watch includes the north central and western counties of Frederick, Washington and Allegany.
In Virginia, the warning and watch encompasses several areas. The counties include:
- Loudoun
- Culpeper
- Fauquier
- Albemarle
- Greene
- Nelson
- Orange
- Clarke
- Frederick
- Madison
- Page
- Rappahannock
- Shenandoah
- Warren
- Augusta
- Highland
- Rockingham
In West Virginia, the watch includes these eight counties:
- Berkeley
- Grant
- Hampshire
- Hardy
- Jefferson
- Mineral
- Morgan
- Pendleton
A wind advisory is also in effect until 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18 for Warren, Page, Shenandoah, Madison, and Rappahannock Counties for elevations above 2,500 feet for winds of 20 TO 30 MPH with gusts up to 50 MPH.
