WASHINGTON — The federal website healthcare.gov has been criticized for its problems. But a number of states have also set up their exchanges and the reviews are coming in now.
As for Maryland, the first month had ups and downs with the Maryland Health Connection having some rocky patches as interest and functionality didn’t always line up.
The Maryland Health Connection says 4,600 households created accounts in the first month and about 4,500 have actually enrolled. Executive Director Rebecca Pearce says she’s happy about the interest, but not with the website’s performance.
Customers had to use paper applications for a while. Pearce says the prime contractor is making a number of changes.
