WASHINGTON – Motorists could be a bit happier filling up the tank this week.
Prices at the pump have come down, and AAA Mid-Atlantic says drivers could see prices drop closer to $3.00 a gallon during the remaining weeks of the year.
The national average price for regular gasoline is down to $3.29 a gallon, 6 cents lower than a week ago.
The average price in the D.C. metropolitan area is $3.30 a gallon, 28 cents below the price one year ago.
Worldwide crude oil prices have also dropped. This past week, they fell to $100 a barrel for the first time since July 2.
