New York burger icon Shake Shack will open two more Washington locations, including its first outside the District.
Shake Shack will add a location at Union Station and in Tysons Corner near Tysons Corner Center mall. Both are expected to open in mid-2014.
“Being in Union Station places us in a truly historic building that’s also a central transportation hub for DC locals and visitors,” said Shake Shack chief executive Randy Garutti. “Tysons Corner takes us beyond DC to an ever-expanding, thriving community in Northern Virginia, where we can build a Shack from the ground up.”
Shake Shack opened its first Washington location on 18th Street NW, just south of Dupont Circle in May 2011. A second Shake Shack opened at Nat’s Park a month later.
In June, Shake Shack opened at 800 F Street NW, as part of the Spy Museum.
Besides its hometown locations in New York, Shake Shack now also has locations in Connecticut, Boston, Philadelphia and Coral Gables, Boca Raton and South Beach, Fla.
