WASHINGTON – A man was shot and killed in La Plata, Md., on Saturday night.
Charles County police say that someone reported the sound of gunshots shortly before midnight on the 600 block of Popes Creek Court, in the Phoenix Run neighborhood.
Officers found Melvin Wayne Brown, 31, of Indian Head, on the ground in between two vehicles in the 600 block of Pomonkey Way, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene, the police say.
