WASHINGTON – A Virginia delegate is under investigation in connection with a 17-year-old girl found at his home last week.
The Washington Post reports the girl is a part-time receptionist for Del. Joseph D. Morrissey’s law firm. An attorney for the college freshman’s mother says the girl was visiting to discuss a “very sensitive legal matter” with Morrissey, D-Richmond, and that the delegate was “professional” and “a gentleman.”
The attorney also says the mother knew where her daughter was and approved, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
The Times-Dispatch says the Henrico County commonwealth’s attorney confirmed Morrissey is under investigation but would not elaborate further. No charges have been brought in the case.
Police reportedly were called to the Henrico County home at the request of the girl’s father, and the girl was taken to him.
