WASHINGTON – Washington Redskins fans can travel to training camp in Richmond, Va., alongside some of the team’s greats with a new luxury shuttle service.
Redskins legends and Pro Football Hall of Famers Darrell Green and Art Monk are partnering with My City Tours to provide a daily luxury shuttle service that transports D.C.-area fans to the team’s training camp at Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond.
“Traffic on I-95 can be a nightmare. We wanted to aid D.C. area fans and the city of Richmond and offer a service to fans that would provide a relaxing, no-stress ride to Richmond in our limousine style tour buses,” My City Tours President Michele Gaskins said in a news release.
The service is a way to ease congestion expected on I-95 as an estimated 100,000 fans head to training camp, the release says. This is the first year the Redskins are having training camp in Richmond. Prior to the move to Richmond, the team hosted training camp at Redskins Park in Ashburn, Va., for 11 summers.
Redskins fans can purchase a $65 ticket to ride the luxury motor coach to training camp. A $220 VIP ticket includes the bus ride, lunch with either Green or Monk, a T-shirt and a signed autograph picture.
Atonn Muhammad, vice president of marketing for My City Tours, said the bus not only provides fans with an exciting experience, but also gets from door-to-door like no other company.
“Being able to take some form of mass transit is the best way for comfort, safety and convenience for all of the fans,” Muhammad said.
The bus picks up at five locations throughout the area — Dulles Town Center, Tysons Corner, FedEx Field, Union Station and RFK Stadium — starting July 26.
Training camp goes from July 25 through Aug. 16.
