WASHINGTON – Prince George’s police are investigating whether a Landover man has been impersonating a police officer after he was stopped for blaring a police siren from his vehicle Tuesday.
Romin Milton, 32, of the 500 block of Willow Hill Court, is charged with the unlawful use of flashing lights and a siren plus several traffic offenses.
Prince George’s police say one of the department’s officers pulled over Milton, who was driving a black SUV, because the vehicle’s headlights were flashing and a siren was blaring late Tuesday night in Cheverly.
Milton told the officer he worked for a local police department as a dispatcher. But that department said Milton didn’t work there, police say.
The officer saw Milton cut the wires to the siren. He also had a police radio, a police badge, police LED lights and strobe kits.
Police ask that anyone who had contact with Milton while he was posing as a police officer to call investigators at 301-731-4422.
