WASHINGTON – A flower grows on Mars – or does it?
NASA’s Curiosity rover snapped a shot of a strange rock formation that some say resembles a floral structure. The Martian “flower” was captured on tape by a tiny lens at the end of Curiosity’s robotic arm.
A NASA Internet forum user dubbed the image a flower because of its translucent appearance, according to NBC News.
Curiosity also documented panoramic images of a snake-like outcropping coiling its way around parts of the planet’s surface, Fox News reports.
This is not the first time NASA has captured an image of strange debris on the Red Planet: Officials think a bit of spacecraft wrapping fell onto Mars previously, NBC News reports. That doesn’t appear to be the case this time.
