WASHINGTON – Leggings were already controversial when women were wearing them.
Fashion critics and bloggers have declared “leggings are not pants,” as more and more women opted for comfort.
That was before meggings – leggings for men.
Skin tight and not much thicker than tights, the fashion press insists meggings are the next trend.
Taking skinny jeans to the next level, meggings come in black, stripes and animal prints.
But no pockets. So apparently you’d have to accessorize them with a man bag.
Meggings aren’t for everybody or every body.
Fashion critic Robert Johnson tells The Telegraph if you have a bit of a belly, it’s not going to look great, more like an avocado on matchsticks.
In the past day GQ has issued an official statement on meggings.
It reads: “No.”
No need to worry that you’ll need to replace your business trousers any time soon. Googling doesn’t turn up any D.C.-area stores stocking meggings.
Yet.
