WASHINGTON – Joe Gibbs may be wishing for a rewind button.
The Hall of Fame Redskins coach who led the team to three Super Bowl titles appeared Wednesday with hosts Ryen Russillo and Bram Weinstein on ESPN Radio. After commenting on the size of ex-NBA power forward Charles Oakley, who had just appeared on the show, Gibbs relayed how he always saw potential football tight ends playing on the court during NBA basketball games.
“I go to the pro basketball game every time and they always said I was queer for tight ends,” Gibbs said. “I had more tight ends running around there with the Redskins, and I look out there and I go, ‘That’s where all the tight ends are, they’re playing in the NBA.'”
